Allen/Sinnock
« on: Tuesday 19 May 15 14:07 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Have just come across this entry for a birth/baptism

Countess of Huntingdons Chapel, North Street, Brighton
George Sinnock son of John Allen and Elizabeth his wife was born ? Dec 1817 in the Parish of Brighton in the county of Sussex and baptised 31 st May 1818.

Why would he have a different surname to his father?, any suggestions welcome and any info on George if possible.
Many thanks
Cathy

Could Sinnock be a second Christian name? So he is George Sinnock Allen.

Or, could Allen be his dads middle name? So he is John Allen Sinnock.

Need to see original PR to see what column which names are in!
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

My suggestion is the same as Liz's - George Sinnock are his christian names, and his surname is Allen.

Posibly Sinnock is the mother's maiden name?

There is an 1805 marriage in Brighton - John Allen and Elizabeth Sinnock  :-\
