You can check GRONI's index online which should list the exact date of death-

That's great.
I'm trying to tie down a date of death for my great grandfather Patrick McKenna who is buried in an unmarked grave in St Columba's RC in Draperstown. He was originally from Fallagloon in maghera.

I have found a possible match on 7 April 1953 - death cert says hes from draperstown but Brackaghreilly would that be considered close enough to fallagloon? he was born on 23 Jan 1884 and death cert says age was 77 so out by 8yrs is this possible or do I have the wrong death cert??
Draperstown: Trowlan, Quinn, Convery, Kelly, McKenna, Griffin, Sergeant, Hamilton, Taylor.
Monaghan: Duffy, McArdle
Sligo: Egan.
Mayo: Loftus.
Dungannon: Reilly, Milligan, Ryan, Harte.

Sorry probably another sill question but . . . .

My Patrick McKenna was married to Minnie Quinn (Mary Quinn on Birth Cert) born 28 Jan 1873.

I have a Minnie McKenna died in Draperstown aged 55 on 22nd June 1930 with a Patrick McKenna Present at death but says he is a widow - doesn't say anything about him being her husband. Do I assume that this means he was her husband? or could Patrick have already been a widow and could be Minnies brother in law, father in law etc etc??/
Draperstown: Trowlan, Quinn, Convery, Kelly, McKenna, Griffin, Sergeant, Hamilton, Taylor.
Monaghan: Duffy, McArdle
Sligo: Egan.
Mayo: Loftus.
Dungannon: Reilly, Milligan, Ryan, Harte.

Patrick couldn't have been a widow!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Death certificates give the relationship (if any) of the informant but not their marital status, so Patrick has to be the widow(er) of the deceased.

Put 'brackareilly' into Google Maps and you'll see it's not far from Fallagloon.
