I've just discovered your posts on how to take a picture of the image.   From Windows 7+ there is a neat function Snipping Tool all part of Windows and you can snip the image, copy it and paste wherever.  Just put 'snipping tool' into the Search box.

I think you can download United States census images from https://familysearch.org/ I have only checked a couple of years but it does appear you can download images from all years.

Thanks for your post, yes you can, I was referring to some earlier posts when people were talking about using Paint in Msoft to get images.  As I've said the snipping tool is wonderful.

That Mocavo link now leads to the collaboration site with FindMyPast, which I'm pretty sure means that you have to pay to see any images now.

However, as Andy mentioned above, I have also found a couple of US census record images freely available on FamilySearch - don't know whether they're all there or not.

The original post was from a few years ago.  Familysearch.org is probably the easiest place to view the US census for free.
