Ann King Parish of Dollar
« on: Tuesday 26 May 15 12:57 BST (UK) »
My 4x great grandparents married in Perth in November 1784 and according to the register her name was Ann King daughter of William King a Smith in Menock?(not sure of spelling it could be Merock) in the parish of Dollar. Does anyone know where Menock or Merock is in the parish of Dollar?

thanks

Hi shionamairi

There is refence here to place names of Dollar www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/digital-volumes/ordnance-survey-name-books/place-names/Dollar?class=parish&county=Clackmannanshire

There is there a mention of a Melloch as a posibility?

Can you post a snippet from the OPR image you have with the place name? People can have a look with you. If you need help with this, see www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,130922.0.html or just ask  :)

Monica

Thank you for the reply but I do not think that Melloch is the correct answer - I have tried to add an attachment to show the original OPR entry so with crossed fingers here goes

thanks
