I saw that record as well. Not the right one.

Unfortunately, I have mined familysearch and ancestry.com for all I can. That is why I am reaching into Felinfach.

Looking for a detail or two form Church Records, something that I can pick up with and run.

I know you are wanting to find out more about the Welsh part of your family's history, but it helps if we know what records post emigration have to show.

If you are sure that the marriage you have is correct, then you also need to consider that your ancestor's name might be originally Evan Charles, even though other records give it only as Charles.

Elizabeth's d/c records that her parents were born in Germany, so this person in 1900 looks possible:

Urbana, Ohio

Elizabeth Evans b Sept 1842 Wid  born Ohio parents born Germany
Charles Evans  b Aug 1880 S born Indiana father born Canada (Welsh) mother born Ohio

I think the family are in Rushville, Indiana in 1880? Charles is aged 36 and says he was born in Wales.

Charles and Lizzie are in Ray, Franklin, Indiana in 1870, Charles is 28 and says he was born in Canada.

What makes you sure that the death certificate naming Charles' parents as David and Catherine is the wrong one, given that it matches the place where Charles and Lizzie married, and where Lizzie appears to be living in 1900?

I know because gen 5 to current is known family.

Yes Generation-5 gg-grandfather Charles Evan or Evan Charles was born in 1842 in Wales - albeit on the ship in the port as it was readying its leave from Aberaeron to Canada. No record of his birth exists in Wales, since it was likely recorded when the ship arrived in Canadian port. Technically, yes in Wales and Technically yes in Canada. That's why different records show either.

I am super confident with a great deal of primary documentation that the below from Great-Great-Grandfather Charles Evan Evans Married Elizabeth Meyers to current is correct - except for his birth location.

Generation-6 My Great Great Great Grandfather

Generation-2 My Father

Are you absolutely certain the parents of Charles Evan 1842 are not David & Catherine as the record states his correct death date (21/01/1895) and place of Urbana, Champaign, Ohio?
Duroe, Duro, Durow, Derbyshire
Freegard, Freeguard, Wiltshire & South Wales
Hankey, Daresbury, Cheshire
Hopkins, Banbury, Oxfordshire

That is an interesting record and does not present the death record that it indicates it is linked to.

So I'm not sure what that record is.  I have inquired to the Champaign county Library that holds the microfiche for a copy and I have requested any internment, plot or other records for Oakdale cemetery.

That is the correct link to the gravestone.

So while I am 99% sure that the record you found is wrong, I have reached out to verify that.  As soon as I find out, I will be back !

Living in the Felinfach area was my 3rd great grandfather, Charles Evan Evans and we believe he married a Mary Thomas. We are not sure when they married (before 1842)

My 2nd Great Grandfather also Charles Evan Evans was born (at least that is the lore) on ship in the port of Aberaeron.  Siblings may have been born in Wales – John, Nell and Sally (before 1842).

What can you tell us about his siblings mentioned above
