thomas Sparrowhawk of Shoreham, Kent
« on: Wednesday 27 May 15 20:59 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find out as much as I can about Thomas Sparrowhawk of Shoreham In Kent, England.  He was named in the will of Thomas Harrison of Chevening Kent 1766. Thomas Harrison (born approx 1694) refers to his cousin Thomas Sparrowhawk. I'd like to know who his parents were. When and where was he born.

I have not been able to look at the archives held locally in Kent and I suspect the answer lies there.  TS may, like Thomas Harrison, have been a nonconformist.

Thank you

No obvious Thomas misspellings for Shoreham baptisms 10 years either side of 1732

There's a Thomas Sparks bp at Northbourne in 1733 but suggest that might be clutching at straws

Film not available at Kew, so not able to check it

Thank you all for your replies. Also mentioned in the will is Rebecca Francis and her daughter Ann Sparrowhawk. It's possible that Rebecca = Ann who married Thomas in Shoreham.

Yes I too found the Lincolnshire baptism record online. Interesting how there appear to be so few records for  Sparrowhawk. It is such an unusual name....

The records I need would date before the Shoreham marriage between Thomas and Ann (or Francis). And perhaps I now need to focus on Lincolnshire for more clues.

I'm hoping eventually to find a clue which leads to my Thomas Harrison's parents marriage!
