 Thanks to all for  your advice regarding Captain James Corbett Lang.  It certainly gives me plenty to work on, given time I will sort him out  I would still like to find out if he lived at any time in the Borders. I will return.  :)

According to Scotland census records Gavin Lang...Father of James Corbert Lang was born in Glassford, Lanarkshire in 1835 and as Ev has already found...he was married to Francis Mary Corbert.
He was in Scotland in 1841 & 1851 and by 1871 & 1881 was in Canada...but back in Scotland on the 1901 census.

Hi Eneri..There is a medal card on Ancestry for Cpt. James Corbet Lang showing that he was awarded the Victory Medal, British Medal and the 15 Star.
Application for the medals on 22-8-1921 on behalf of her late husband was made by Mrs. M. L. Lang of Moira Cottage, Colinton, Midlothian.
