Cleaning Silk postcards from WW1 era

Hi there
I've recently been given some silk postcards by my mother that were sent from the front during WW1. Does anyone have any advice about cleaning them? They're slightly off colour and I would like to freshen them up and preserve them for future generations without damaging or fading the colours. Helen

Hi Helen and welcome to Rootschat....as they are 100 Years old...I would brush them lightly and wrap them in acid free paper to prevent further deterioration....Ether scan them and print off copies or photograph them and they can be enjoyed without being handled.
Alternatively......You could google advice on conservation of silk postcards.
