Rosina DANIELS
« on: Monday 01 June 15 14:28 BST (UK) »
Rosina DANIELS was born c1859, probably somewhere in the Holloway-Islington area. Her father was Charles DANIELS, a labourer and/or brick-maker. Her mother was Eliza DANIELS (née GAME). She was baptised on 25 March 1860 at St John's, Holloway. I cannot, however, find an appropriate birth certificate for her.

Sadly, it would appear that she died young. There is a death reference for Q1 1861 Islington 1b 189, which I have yet to order a certificate for, but believe to be for her.

Any ideas or suggestions welcomed.

Unfortunately not. The reference you have found is for a Rosine Daniels, born 24 March 1859 to Thomas and Emily Daniels (née White), who are definitely the wrong parents and as far as I know not related. Sadly I had found this one myself and made the same mistake, going as far as to order the certificate!

Back to the drawing board Rosie  ;D

Could be that they never did register her birth, especially if she was a poorly baby and not expected to live for long.

There's also an Eliza to the same parents and at the same abode in 1861. Couldn't find a suitable registration for that one either. Whereas a later child, Charlotte (1864), at a different address does have an Islington registration (assuming it's hers)

So maybe Rosina / Eliza's address was more inaccessible for some reason?

This Rosina Daniels was probably buried on 5 March 1861 at Islington Cemetery (East Finchley). The purchase of a few credits at DeceasedOnline to check her age and address would be cheaper than the death certificate.

It might be better to check with cemetery office direct as not all entries at Deceased Online contain the information you require. She also appears to be in a common grave.

www.islington.gov.uk/services/birth-death-marriage/death-services/cemeteries/pages/default.aspx

For example, the records they hold for Kensal Green are not much better than an alphabetical list.
