I do. My father hadn't seen his father since he left for Canada with Megan but had kept in touch. We were in Toronto for 3 weeks.

No, we didn't. When did your father pass away? Do you have any photographs of him?

Hi Lisa,

Thank you very much for allowing me to see the photos. Joe and Gareth have been a bit of a mystery to us as a family! Although I met Joe I don't know very much about him. I am not on facebook, however, my daughter showed me on her account! Old age!!!!!

She is more than happy to connect via facebook, we can send photos to you that way. Photos of my father and one or two of Joe are in my parent's house in Swansea. When I go to the house this week, i will rummage for pictures to send to you! Sian

Hi Sian,
I'd be very happy to add your daughter to facebook. What is her name? She can also add my sister Joanne Plante. I wish I had more to show you. I wasn't very close to my father. I actually never met him until I was 21 years old. I tried very hard to have a relationship but his new wife didn't like the idea very much. My sister Joanne is eight years older then me and remembers him well. My father had a bad drinking problem and therefore had a very rough life. He did die from cancer, as did my grandmother Megan.I recently found some information that Joe and Megan divorced when Gary was only 8 years old. Do you know if he ever remarried? I understand that Megan did and she had another child John Bertrand. I would love to see a picture of Joe.

Hi Lisa
My daughter's name is Elin Haf Davies...there are quite a few of the same name so to make things easier she will add you. I might be able to get hold of some photos tomorrow.
From what my cousins and I remember being told, Joe also had a drinking problem. We did not think that my grandmother had granted him a divorce and therefore he was still legally married. My grandmother died January 3rd 1982. My father had a telephone call the very same day to say that his father had died two weeks previously. As far as we know he did not remarry. We did know that Megan had died of cancer. My father was a Welsh actor and I believe that Joe had connections with radio and television. You might find some more information through the  Welsh chapel and Welsh Society of Toronto...he was a very proud Welsh speaker as are we all.
Is that you and your sisters in the photograph? ..Sian
