Skilled glassworkers were amongst the first industrial workers to move around, Dumbarton, North Glasgow, Alloa (next to Fife) are all glassworks locations and employed Irish, English, Bohemian workmen.

There were glassworks at Pettycur Bay, near Kinghorn, Fife.  They were latterly owned by United Glass.  If you Google "Pettycur glassworks", a reference and photographs can be found on the Scotlands Places site.

If you put the name James McCurley with second household name Of Margaret into the 1911 census search on Scotlandspeople it only brings up one entry for Fife and the age of that James is 43. Not conclusive but might point more towards the Glasgow marriage in 1911.

I looked at some deaths yesterday, with James' birth year +/- a few years, really not many (also usind wildcard spellings). Nothing fits  :-\ Wondering whether he left Scotland after 1901?

Re Census reply.

James is boarding with a Scullion family.
James has an uncle Hugh McCurley who married a Maryann scullion ,father called Patrick.
Maybe is visiting cousins for some reason??
