Stanbank?
« on: Sunday 07 June 15 07:39 BST (UK) »
Hi all,
I need a little help please. I am looking for a Frances A Stanbank who married John R Whittaker in 1920, Bucklow, Cheshire. I cannot find a birth record for her any where. I also tried looking for a "Frances A" marrying a Stanbank in case she was previously married, but having no joy. I thought it should be an easy one as the name seems quite rare.  ???
Many thanks.

I think you need the marriage certificate, in order to get her father's name and possible age?

Hi

According to the National School Admission Register her fathers name was Samuel, there is a possible family on the 1901 census as STANDBACK.  Frances Ann STANDBACK was 1 month old.

Hi,

Did Frances Ann Whittaker die in Bucklow, Cheshire in Mar 1972?

If so her death details show her birth date as 3 Nov 1900. Likewise, was her husband John Robert Whittaker born on 15 March 1898 and died in Macclesfield Sept 1982. Their marriage is on Free BMD Sept Qtr 1920 reference 8a/614 for the district of Bucklow - she is shown as Stanbank.

A bit of a long shot - There is a birth of a Florence Annie Stanbank for Dec Qtr 1899 (Northwich District - which includes Oakmere) reference 8a/243,which on the face of it, doesn't appear to fit. However could this possibly be her with Florence having later been known as Frances? It would be easy to confuse a birth date of 1899 or 1900. The only issue would be the 1901 census which shows her as only 1 month old.

Possibly worth considering?

Alan
