emigration ?

I am looking for Doreen Hilarie Brand Sanson ,Parents Frederick George  Sanson,master draper   and Helen Daisy Brand .She was born 1912 ,Dunbar ,East Lothian ,Scotland .She married William James Harris, b 1905 in ? ,joiner, in 1933,in Edinburgh ,St Giles .Can`t seem to find her after 1933. Wonder if she emigrated ?

Hi

You've posted in a "Please don't post here area " so I this may be moved. There is a tree online which gives 2 children of this couple born in 1936 in Aberdeenshire and 1944 in Angus ( they are not named as they may be living ). I don't have any credits for scotlandspeople , but that's probably the only place you will find anything. Someone on the Scotland board may be able to help if you ask to have this moved.

I can't find the tree that CB53 has mentioned however Ancestry have an incoming passenger record for a Doreen Harris born 2/9/1912. There are two other Harris passengers immediately following her entry with birth dates of 1936 and 1944 so this may be the same family that appears in the online tree. They arrived aboard the RMS Nova Scotia from Boston on 29th Oct 1959 and the address they were going to was 5 Wellington Street Edinburgh. They were all UK citizens, previous country of residence USA, proposed country of residence Scotland.

I have just noticed that there is a scan of Doreen's birth cert on Ancestry and she was born on 2nd Sept 1912 so this would appear to be a match with the Passenger record above.

The family, including William J, appear to have arrived in the US on 3rd April 1957 on board Ss America. Address in America was 212 Humphrey Street, Swampscott, Mass. I notice that Doreen and the two children were travelling on British passports but William had USC recorded under this category which I assume means United States Citizen.

Doreen Harris born 2 Sept.1912 died Dec.1986
SSN:   018-36-8945 (issued Massachusetts 1963)
Last Residence: 01906 Saugus, Essex, Massachusetts, USA

Which fits with Mass. Death Index- died 11 Dec.1986 Cambridge, Mass.

I can`t believe you found them !!!! Thank you so much ,this is definitely the family I have been looking for 4years . I just had a feeling that they might have emigrated ,but it appears  that William took his family back with him  ,or was it he took out American citizenship ? Now I will search for him , as they were married in 1933 there was no census record to check his nationality . Now I am getting really excited, there might be family living there now !! Incidentally it is my tree on Ancestry, Doreen is my great great grandmothers niece ,still working that one out relative to me .
