Thanks Merlin for the heads up. I don't always check the TV guide, often watching shows after they have aired.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Watching this at the moment. Distracted though and not "feeling it" as they say. Unsure if the acting is pretty poor or I am just not connecting with it generally. Actors do not appeal either ....

I prefer to read historical documents and watch documentaries about convicts instead of a show dramatised for TV.

Glad it is just not me.  :)
I haven't read the book and generally enjoy a decent dramatization even if it deviates from the book, but I'm afraid I was not impressed with this ....  :-\

I tend to agree with you, but occasionally they do a dramatised/fictionalised one very well. More occasionally than not, I'm afraid.
