It may be to Lowry Williams. There are certainly christenings to John Parry and Lowry Williams here

I haven't looked too far,so maybe the marriage is there as well.

Thanks, Despair,

Great help - will have to look closer for marriage. Could be married elsewhere.

I have downloaded an entry from 'Welsh births and baptisms' on FamilySearch which gives Harry Parry's name as Harry John. Could I assume (fatal, I know) that this is in fact Harry ap John. He is just Harry in the Llansannan registers.

My only knowledge of patronymics is what I have gathered on this site.As far as I know,Harry,a son of John Parry, might possibly be known as Harry ap John or Harry John or Harry Parry, but I would prefer if others commented before you made any further assumptions.Of course any form of reference to Harry ap John other than in the known context of a birth/baptism could refer to a Harry son of any other John..

Roger

I wonder if the following could be a misinterpretration or mistranscription?

https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3Alowry%20%2Bsurname%3Awilliams%20%2Bmarriage_place%3Adenbighshire%20%2Bmarriage_year%3A1660-1700~

The timing is appropriate to the first born of John Parry and Lowry Williams and there is no other obvious record of a John Bury in the register.

Roger

Hi Roger,

Great minds... When I saw John Bury and Lowry, my first thought was that it was a mishearing by the baptising cleric or a misinterpretation  or mishearing by whoever filled out the parish register, and it should be John PARRY. Bury is hardly a Welsh surname!

Are you also thinking that Harry may be the Harry Jones you are seeking in another thread?
Llangernyw is only 4 to 5 miles from LLansannan.

Hi Roger,

That's the way I'm going. The chain appears to to from Llansannan to LLangernyw to Llanbedr y Cennin to Llanllechidd to Llandygai; Dernbighshire to Caernarfonshire, from agricultural labourers to quarrymen.
