Middlesex: James SQUINCE, born 1824/1826, Shoreditch
« on: Saturday 13 June 15 17:09 BST (UK) »
Hello,

After completing a two year sentence at Parkhurst Prison on 14/12/1840 James SQUINCE was released to the "Refuge for the Destitute" , where the 1841 England Census finds him (HO107/709/10/50, p.2).   I have not uncovered any further details, except for the possibility he had an older brother, George, born 1821 in Shoreditch and transported to Tasmania in 1841...... the odd connection being that they had both worked at some stage as "Willow Weavers"

Please Note:   findmypast, which I do not have full access to, shows the death in Stockton, Durham, of a James SQUINCE in 1853 and 1857 ???

Any help from 1841 onwards as to his history would be more than appreciated.

Thank you,

Tony

Thanks,

Premature deaths unfortunately or so it would seem.
