Make sure you have accommodation booked in advance for at least first night of trip.
Tourist season has started.
Drive safely and within speed limits which are Kilometers per hour.

You are bound to get stuck behind a tractor at some stage on country roads.

Enjoy the holiday.

My daughter and myself have driven around Ireland. We found it relatively easy compared to driving conditions where we live in Australia. The distances between towns is much shorter than what we were used to at home .So we had more time to stop and observe the sites whilst  driving from place to place.Enjoy your stay hope you have a memorable holiday Ireland is a beautiful country filled with friendly people.

Might be worth asking your bank about chip and pin credit/debit card, you can get pre paid ones now which a lot of tourists seem to be using.

You can use the sign ones but may be asked for photo ID

I have a vague memory of seeing a sign in arrivals last time I came home from the U.S. I remember thinking it was a bit late telling people after they had landed in the country.

Thank you. We are looking now at B&B's and hotels in the area.

Looking forward to staying at Brenda's B & B, and visiting Osbourne's Bar in Rathanna. We plan on going to Mass at St. Fortchern's Church, and walking around the graveyard as well. I came across a bit of history on this old church and discovered that the land was donated by a Mrs. MacDonald. I only wish they gave her forename. She might quite possibly have been Thomas' wife (for more on that see: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=706946.9)
Anyway, that's the update!
