'Lyconia' Cooper unusual name yet no results
« on: Sunday 14 June 15 17:14 BST (UK) »
'Lyconia'  Cooper, such a lovely name :)  and her previously deceased / living half sisters also had unusual names.

Yet all I kind find for her is her birth... Maybe she didnt like it???  :-X

Anyhow she was born to William and Elizabeth (I think Elizabeth is williams 3rd wife  ::) not too sure)
William was previously married to an Elizabeth (nee Neal)  and maybe a Catherine previously ?!?!? as well so that makes the search ..... ! interesting!

They lived in Lubenham - and she was born 1798.  I think Liz and Will then went on to have another son John 1799.
There are loads of births on the Lub parish reg during the correct time period for
William and Elizabeth Cooper, sadly also loads of infant deaths.......

I am not going to follow all those that were not my direct line - I just have the basics on them.

But cannot find MY Lyconia or John after their birth!!!
Elizabeth Cooper (2) dies in 1831 - I think  ???
and William -- I just gave up on  :-X :-\ ;D ;D ;D - there are times - when it is impossible to guestimate.
So maybe they moved away from Lubenham...

any help would be great.  tia

It could be she didn't like it.

My GG-Grandmother was baptised as: Funnyname Regularname Lastname.  Her sister was ReallyFunnyName Regularname Lastname.

They both married without their funny names ..... then, at death, my GG-grandmother was registered (and on her gravestone) as Regularname Mothersname Lastname.  So she'd not only dropped her first, Funnyname, but thrown in her mother's name as her middle name later on.

Her sister's burial/registration name did look similar to her baptised name, but you'd have had to have knowledge of her movements since birth to spot it and tie them up as the same person.

At best I'd suggest you might be able to "hope" for a Lucy as a future name.....

Hi
Have found the following info don't no if it's any good to you?
From Leicestershire Marriages CD
Lubenham 29 Jan 1778
William Cooper of this parish wid
            &
Elizabeth Neale of this parish spinster
marriage by banns
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lubenham 26 March 1798
William Cooper of this parish wid
            &
Elizabeth Patrick of this parish spin
Marriage by banns
~~~~~~~~~~~~
And this one
Market Harborough 31 Oct 1770
William Cooten of Lubenham
            &
Catherine Hackett of this parish spin
Marriage by banns

The 1st child to be baptized in Lubenham is from William's second marriage to Elizabeth Neale in 1778, so maybe he lived elsewhere during his 1st marriage?
