Hi,

Just edited one of my replies that included Stephen bapt 1782 - his fathers William - oops my mistake.

But there is an Ann again listed as Cowtas baptised in Burton Fleming in 1782 to father Robert.  Again could Cowtas become Coultas (or another spelling - I have had worse variations in my tree).

Hi Chatters

Re the marriage at Brid in 1778
The BTs have Cowtice.
The PR's have Cowtas with a weak crossbar from the w to make a t
The person who wrote Robert's name for him to make his mark wrote Coulas. No cross on the t.
PRs note Robert was from Burton Agnes.
Jane was from Brid. Thomas Vickerman was a witness.

Hi again,

Re the familysearch Bempton bapt for Samuel Cowtas son of Robert 1794 - bishop transcripts have this as Samuel son of Robert Coultas 16/3/1794.

Also re William Cowtas bapt in 1792 at Bempton son of Robert, possibly could be Coultas from bishop transcripts, though nowhere near as clear the entry for Samuel.
