Possible Brown family member from MS and SC

Hello everyone. I am trying to date the attached photo and also put a name to the face. The picture is a tintype, appears to possibly be a young Native American woman, and was found in either my great or great great grandmothers belonging in 1978 by my grandfather.
The link between me and who had it is as follows:
Erin Bross of St. Louis MO (myself)
Karen Brown (my mother)
George Kyle Brown b. 1919ish in MS and d. 2010 in MO married Lillie Virginia Branche
Horace Milton Brown b. 1888 in MS d. 1956 MS married Bellfield "Fieldie" Snipes
Thomas Milton Brown b. 1864 Georgia d. 1950 MS married Elizabeth Lewis (it is said by family that Thomas left his wife and started a new family. If it's true I've not found positive proof but it seems he moved around an aweful lot more than the rest of the family)
Danison Brown b. 1829 SC d. 1909 married Mary Cosper (it is also family lore that Danison left his wife and started a new family. I have no proof as of yet)

Thank you all for your help. Would love to either find this family more, find out who the woman in the photo is, date of the photo, etc.

Hello Erin & welcome.
The problem with US tintypes is that unlike the UK they were used over a very long period & without the benefit of the information from a CdeV all we have is the dress style & as you can see she's pretty much covered in a shawl.
However I would suggest she's quite young possible 15/16 & this was taken 1860's - 1870's.
I don't know why you think she's native American as she looks European to me.
