Sylvester Doyle born Wicklow 1840's

Hi I am hoping to find a birth record for Sylvester Doyle born sometime in the 1840's. He later lived in Clondalkin in Dublin.

Marriage to Mary Cardiff in 1873

I can see from the census that he was born in Wicklow but no clue where, and from the marriage record I can see his father is Patrick Doyle and his mother Mary ? but that is all I have to go on.

I'd look around Kilmacanogue.

There are petty session records in the 1860's for a Sylvester Doyle living there (presuming that your Sylvester was still in Wicklow then).

It's a starting point anyway.

Just working on the relative rarity of the Christian name, these two others with the same name in the same area might be worth looking at (and backwards) to see if you get leads !

Tara, I didn't have those hospital entries so I will definitely look into that. And with my family I am never shocked when prison records and court appearances come into play
