Truswell
« on: Saturday 20 June 15 14:02 BST (UK) »
In the 1851 census for Nottingham we have Catherine Bell b. abt 1809 husband is William Bell b. abt 1816. The birth town for Catherine is given as Truswell, Nottinghamshire. I am unable to find such a place the closest I come to is Truswell Yard and if this the case it should have been listed simply as Nottingham. I am trying to find out name of Catherine and also the marriage.

I'll be pleased if anyone could help me on these points.

Could it be Treswell??  http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/NTT/Treswell/
Thank you for that, unfortunately Treswell is not listed on the discs I have from Nottinghamshire FHS but I am intending to visit the Nottinghamshire Archives on Tuesday so I take it's one of the parishes which they haven't covered so I should go looking when I'm there.

Robert Treswell is on my edition of Cds
The only Catherine baptised in Treswell 1809 +-5 yrs is
8-4-1804 Catharine dau of William & Ann Jollands. No marriages coming up for a lady of that name though
I did wonder if it could be Trowell, as that is nearer to Nottingham, but I think the image is Treswell.

Thank you so much for looking and giving me that information. I see I love to get my discs updated. I don't know if I'll ever find a marriage.
