The marriage record doesn't seem to give a lot of information. There is a family in York Ontario in 1911 - who immigrated 1907  - William and Ellen Howe but I don't think it is who you are looking for.

63 Lappin Ave Toronto Ontario 1911

William Howe  37  Ellen Howe  37
John Howe  14  May Howe  12
Dorothy Howe  6 George Howe  4
Laura Howe  was born January 1909 and not 1892 as transcribed.

The birth of Laura would indicate her parents were William Howe and Ellen Edith Waugh. The marriage record for Laura shows W J Howe and Ellen E Waugh.

Have you got the parents names for your Ellen Ann Lawes ?

Notice a passenger list for a Ellen Lawes born 1870 and travelling 23 March 1906 on Lake Manitoba - Liverpool to St Johns New Brunswick but with a husband George and a son Simon.
Haven't come across another Ellen Lawes travelling in 1906 so far - have you got the details of the passenger list you found your Ellen on ?

Hi,

There is a WW1 service file for William John Howe, and sadly he was killed in action
April 24, 1915. He gives his address as 69 Lapin Avenue, and nok Ellen Howe.

A little confused. On the marriage-does it not give her parents as William and Mary Jane (nee Hoskins?).
I'm not even sure what Ellen's surname is. It almost looks more like LAWER than LAWES.

Hi,

There seems to be 2 records, one with little on it that looks like Lawes, and then the one you
found that looks like Lawer.
 ???

Cheers,

I was sort of looking at the Ellen LAWER born 1874 in Cornwall-on the 1881 UK (St Blazey) with mother Jane and sister Bessie.

Tree on Ancestry says Bessie married a Benjamin NODDER and moved to Ontario-living in 1911 at-you guessed it-63 Lappin.

So...... ??? ??? ???

On the marriage that you found, one of the witnesses is Benjamin Nodder.

From a tree, there is a birth record for Lora Lillian Howe in Uxbridge, Ontario 1909,
parents William John Howe, mother Amy Lawrence. Parents married England 1897.

There is a marriage April 11, 1897 All Saints South Lambeth, Surrey for William John Howe
and Amy Lawrence. Father John Howe which matches the Ontario marriage. And on the
Ontario marriage William John Howe was a widower.

Cheers,
DB
