John Boothey born Seaton abt 1798
« on: Thursday 25 June 15 14:29 BST (UK) »
Hello Rootschatters,  :)

Have been tracing the Boothey family from Northamptonshire who emigrated to South Australia, Australia in the 1840s.

Have now found an ancestor John Boothey who married Mary Tebbutt - 1816 -Geddington, Northamptonshire. The family have been located in the 1841 census living Newton - abt 1 km N of Geddington. The 1851 census of the same family, still living at Newton revealed John Boothey was born Seaton, Rutland.

Unfortunately  ???  ??? I have been unable to find any records of John Boothey and family in Seaton, Northamptonshire. Would be extremely grateful if any kind person with more expertise can help.

Many Thanks,

Pilgrims Progress  :)  :)

There are BUTHEY's in Seaton Rutland around this time.  There is a John bp 1793 son of William and Elizabeth plus other children between 1799 and 1812.

There are also children of Edward & Esther Buthey of Seaton.

I can let you have the details if you think this might be the family.
DEXTER-  pre 1800 Rutland & Lincolnshire
DAWSON -  Wymeswold Leics
HALL - Sheffield Yorkshire UK & Tasmania
MARSH- Willoughby on the Wolds
BLEWITT/BLUEITT/BLUITT mainly Grantham area

Hello Forte  ;D

I just wasn't imaginative enough with the surname variations but you were! Thank you so much for helping me get back one generation further.

It never ceases to amaze me - on rootschat there seems to be at least one kind and generous soul who takes time out to assist.

Thank you so much Forte. Have a great weekend.

Kind Regards,

Pilgrims Progress  :)  :)
