Thank you myluck! for the additional information especially the marriage of Laurence Lawless/LELIS in Wicklow on Jan 12 1846.

So far I have details of Laurence Lawless and Mary Ann Hogan's children as follows:

1.  Julia Lawless Baptism 25 May 1855 RC Kingstown, Co Dublin.
Sponsor:  Anne HOGAN

2.  Margaret Mary Lawless (Twin) was baptised in RC Church on 23 Feb 1859.  Address Monkstown, KINGSTOWN, Co Dublin.  Sponsors: Thomas Baker & Margaret Ferns.

3.  Michael Lawless (Twin) was baptised in RC Church on 23 Feb 1859.  Address Monkstown, KINGSTON, Co Dublin.  Sponsors: Thomas Baker & Margaret Ferns

4.  Edward Lawless was born 02 Jan 1864 and baptised RC Church 09 Jan 1864.  Address: Monkstown, KINGSTOWN, Co. Dublin.  Sponsors: Peter Casey & Eliza Monahan

5.  Alice Lawless was born on 17 June 1866 (Birth Certificate)
Address: Needham's Court, Kingstown Avenue, KINGSTOWN, Co. Dublin

I also know that a Laurence Lawless Widower married an Alice Kelly a Spinster in Dublin May 1888 His father was Thomas Lawless a Gardener.  Probably the Thomas Lawless who was living with my Laurence Lawless on the 1901 Dublin Census.  Not found a link to them as yet.

It's so frustrating that some records are held on 'pay per view' websites and others are free.  Then of course you have the mistranscription or incorrect spelling of the surname Lawless.  One of my Pollard birth cert have their mother Margaret Lawless as Margaret Lawler!

I also have the details of Alice Lawless marriage to Thomas Molloy in Dublin 1893 but not anything further on that one.

Plenty of Criminal records for Lawless's in Dublin.  LOL!  I think some could well be mine!!

The Laurence Lawless at Benburb Street in 1901 is NOT your relation.

Yours was in the workhouse hospital in the run up to his death.

The one in Benburb Street is buried in Glasnevin.

YOUR Laurence is buried in Deansgrange !

Also,

It was JULIA Lawless that married the Molloy chap.

Alice Lawless appears to have been in and out of the Rathdown Workhouse Hospital.

There is a Mary Lawless & Christina Lawless as Godmother's on the Pollards baptisms.

This is probably the Mary Lawless that registered Lawrence's burial in Deansgrange.

A mistranscription of your Pollards in case you missed it !

Hi Tara

If I hadn't have found that Laurence Lawless on the 1901 Census I would't have looked for my Gt. Gt. Grandfather's Death Registration and ordered his certificate.  As he died 17th April 1901 he should have been on the Census records somewhere as they were taken 31 March.  So where was he?

Do the records you found for him in the workhouse hospital give a home address?    Why my Brady Grandfather died in the workhouse in 1894 it stated where he was from..Synge street in Dublin.

All the workhouse address' and the last one where he passed away in the workhouse hospital, which I posted for you, all give his address as Kingstown.

The last one implies that he was in the workhouse from 1895 to his death in April 1901.

Not everyone whom was in hospital was entered onto the census.

Some were under their initials only.

I have found that the address' on the Rathdown registers are not as good as the Dublin City ones.

Most are the general area as opposed to an exact address !

Unfortunately Lawless is a common surname ~

But there is a prison record for a Mary Anne Lawless in 1875 living in Kingstown.

Her birth area is Glen?, Wicklow.

Could tie in with MyLuck's earlier finds !
