Burial of Mary Anne Lawless states she was the wife of Laurence Lawless! The Date of Death also matches a Death Certificate I already have for Mary Anne Lawless..but she died at Turners Avenue and granddaughter Mary Groves of the same address was the informant and she gave Mary's age as 61, where as the Burial states she was 70!   Maybe Mary Anne Lawless was staying at her granddaughters house when she died?   

I know from my experience that ages given on Death Certificates are not always correct. 

What are the chances of two Mary Anne Lawless' dying on the same day?

I came across this old thread, but thought I'd reply anyway. And yes, I'm still in Wicklow!

I reckon your Laurence 1827 is a cousin of mine baptised on 16 July 1826, he wouldn't have had his birthday yet on 17 April 1901 so he would still be 74.

His parents were Laurence and Elizabeth Walsh who married on 16 September 1820.

There were 6 children (baptisms in format dd/mm/yyyy):

Martha 14/03/1824
Laurence 16/07/1826
Thomas 25/01/1829
James 01/09/1831
Henry 02/03/1834
Elizabeth 12/03/1837

The point I was trying to make was that if he was born on 14 Oct 1827 he wouldn't have been 74 on the 17 April 1901 when he died - he would have been 73. That is why I thought my L was more likely - I have that death cert and I reckoned (incorrectly!) that he was my L. I should have read the whole thread

Would love to know if any of the Lawless descendants here have done DNA tests.

My direct ancestor was James Lawless born in Kingstown in 1857 but his brother was a Laurence born 1855. They had a sister Martha and their parents were Thomas Lawless and Bridget Kinsley. I have traced living descendants for the sons but not Martha.

I'd be interested to try and link into the wider family in the Dun Laoghaire/Bray/Shankill area.
