Leave the idea of her being a convict... I am trying to help you  :-\

Yes, I know she married in 1863.

Look for the family on the 1861 & later census to prove who is living, dead & missing - possibly emigrated or maybe convicted.

You don't know if the whole family emigrated, some of them or just Mary.
Use the information available to you to prove otherwise.

I do not know if any of her siblings immigrated, as I have little info on them. But I will try and extend the research. I don't think her parents immigrated from the research that I have been doing. But there is 2 Davis families living in 1 area. Both are family of Sarah and James (Davis). So I just gotta make sure I am looking at the right family. Thanks for your help Merlin

Try searching 1861 using the youngest child Walter DAVIS who was 1yo on the 1851 census  ;)

Found them! Mary A Davis is still listed. But under the condition section it reads something I cannot read. It is the 3rd line from her name. Not sure if it is relevant to her immigration to Australia

Well done  :D

And now you know she wasn't a convict  ;)

So, we have a least Mary Ann emigrating mid 1861 & before Dec 16 1863.

Have you found any of the family on the 1871 census?

The word you can't read says 'single'  ;)
