I lived not far from it for some 30 years so I ought to know it  ;D

If any of you remember the wonderful BBC adaptation in the 1980's of the Barchester Chronicles (remember Alan Rickman as Mr Slope?) you will have seen this gate many times - the Deanery, to which it leads, was used as the Bishop's Palace and various characters were frequently seen walking through it.

I just love how, with even the smallest church we've searched for, we seem to be able to find some very notable event or facts about them for added interest!  Love it!  8) 8)
