Info on Elizabeth Ollifee
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 03:06 BST (UK) »
HI,

I am looking for information on 4th great grandmother, Elizabeth Ollifee.  She was supposedly born in Wyck Rissington and died in Lower Slaughter around 1880.  She was married to Charlies Mosson.  I would like to learn more about her family.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you,
Dawn

Have you found any of her birth, marriage or death on free bmd, or her with any of her family in the censuses?

Added:
Born around 1803 according to the 1851, 1861 and 1871 censuses.

John and Susanna appear to be on the 1841 census, with possible family. Fairly easy for you to find.

But if John aged 35 in 1841 is their son, (plus 3 of his (?) children) does not show in those baptisms above.

The next door family in 1841 is a William Bowl, age 29, so may also be related.

Hi Dawn,
I haven't checked all the other RootsChatterers posts, but I have spent some time this morning at Glos Archives (GA) and found the following, all available on A******y. Not in any specific order.
Elizabeth MOSSOM of Lower Slaughter, buried at Lower Slaughter, 9th December 1874, aged 72.

Elizabeth OLIFFE bap. at Wyck Rissington, 25th October 1802, f. John, m. Susanna.

1841 Census, Wyck Rissington
John OLIFFA, 65, Ag Lab
Susana, 56
John, 35, Mason
Sarah, 14
James, 11
Caroline, 7

John OLIFFE m. Susannah BOWL at Wyck Rissington in 1796

John OLIFFE d. 1862 Stow-on-the-Wold 6a 260 Mar Qtr. Couldn't find burial though.

1851 Census, Wyck Rissington
John OLIVE, 75, Widower, b. Broadmoor Farm, Glos
John, 65, Son, b. Wyck Rissington
John, 2, Grandson

There is a Will for a John OLLIFFE dated 10th June 1803, but far too much to transcribe.

John OLIFFE Junior, Trial Date: Lent 1819, Charge: Larceny, Verdict: No Prosecution

Susan OLLIFFE bur. 22nd December 1850 at Wyck Rissington, aged 74.
