1891, 1901 census lookup please
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 06:56 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find Lilian Mary FREEMAN who was born in Ickford in 1881. In the 1891 and 1901 census she is not with her parents Harry and Mary Jane. She marries in December 1901 in Islington (her address is Trinity Place) and I have her details after this, but would appreciate it very much if someone could help find her in those missing years.

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you so much Cathy and Suz, that certainly looks like her. I think the 1901 census looks like a pretty good match.

Although it now poses another avenue for me to persue as I don't have any Brownshill's yet! The only unaccounted Ann E that could be an aunt for Lilian was born in 1850 at Warborough, so she doesn't look quite right. I wonder if "Wallington" is meant to be "Wallingford"? Lilian's grandmother was from Wallingford so I might continue looking into her line a bit more.

Thanks again, one mystery solved and I love having another one to contemplate!

Just checked on Free BDM and Robert Brownsell married Annie Elizabeth Beisley at Headington in 1886. Beisley is Lilian's grandmother's maiden name, so looks like I'm on the right track.  ;D

The image for 1891 was not good but looking again it looks like Wallingford and Robert and Annie E's surname in 1901 Brownsill (sell) and Annie born Warborough.

Thanks Cathy,

And of course just checking through my files I find that witnesses at Lilian's mother's 2nd marriage after her husband dies are ... Robert and Annie Elizabeth Brownsill.  ;D
