Tyberton The Forge occupants pre 1912
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 18:16 BST (UK) »
Hi all I'm trying to locate pictures and information regarding a property in Tyberton Hereford, the property in question is called The Forge. So far my research has bought up a few blacksmiths living in tyberton but not saying where they lived exactly.
 The people I have at the moment are;
Wm Wilcox (though I believe this to be Thomas Wilcox) c.1858
Sarah Lloyd c.1879
Mrs Ann Lloyd c.1895
Thomas Lloyd from then on.

The Hereford archives is at the moment closed and so I have had to use all the resources at the library and the internet as best I can, I know this isn't a typical ancestry type topic or question but any and all help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to find information on this property and the history of the people that lived there as it is quite personal to me as Tyberton is.

many thanks you guys

Have you tried looking on the Herefordshire Family History Site?

http://www.herefordshirefhs.org.uk/

If you can't find anything, there might be someone on that Site who could help. Worth a try anyway.

Romilly.

On the 1888 ordnance survey map there is a smithy shown in  tyberton, it seems to be still there on the modern map.

Assuming we mean the tyberton near Madley I have driven past it many times but never noticed a house there, I feel it may be hidden behind a hedge.

You should be able to find it on street view, it is on a very tight bend just after tyberton going towards Madley on the B 4352

Try this map.  Tyberton and the smithy are in the south west corner

Thank you ever so much guys. My parents have been living at the forge for the last 18 years and I thought it would be a great gift to research the house and the previous occupants as well as the history of Tyberton as a whole. Much appreciated guys
