Hi Keyboard86
I did find James Lewis, boarder on 1851 census.  He was an innkeeper by 1871, and had left the railway, the inn was not far from the station at Bodergan, Anglesey.
I have been helped with finding the right Eliza Lewis, she is the daur of Hannah and Edward Lewis.
I still don't understand why James and Eliza' eldest son Edward Lewis Coles is missing off the 1861 and 1871 censuses. Born 1853 in Aber, in later years he added the name Llewelyn as his 3rd name, although he was not registered as that. Would his birth or baptism be available in the parish records?
Regards Sue

Hi again if no parish register entry can be located maybe your only option will be to purchase that birth certificate?
Although it is odd.on 2'census returns 1861/71 he is not with family?

That is such a mystery. Edward Lewis Coles born in Aber 1853, according to the censuses he is on from 1881 to 1911. At his marriage he says his father is James Coles, publican. He has the Lewis name, which was James' wife's maiden name, James Henry Coles was a witness at his marriage and he is there with the family. Poor Edward, where is he?  His birth is registered at Bangor, so wasn't he baptised like the others?

Thanks Roger for finding that. That probably accounts for him not being with the family on the 1861 census, I wonder where he was by 1871, and why he was the only one sent away to school. He seems a bright boy. Would there be a census of the school?
I tried to find some info about this school, but couldn't find any, although there was a mansion of that name, Treborth Hall, built about 1870, near Bangor.

Haven't found anything further yet on your latest questions. Not particularly relevant, but there is a railway employment record for J H Coles as an apprentice at Bangor in 1872.

That will be his brother, James Henry.
Edward was a railway clerk in Liverpool,  from 1881 census right up to 1911
