Hi

Just looking at your posts I take it that it"s his wife Rachel that you are more interested.

Are you basically just trying to see did they both live and die in Ireland ?

Do you have his actual marriage cert to Rachel to get his father's name and occupation ?

Trades like bakers usually go in families.

In 1880 Slaters there is a John Cormack, Baker, at Main Street Borrisoleigh Templemore.

Thanks again Sinann and Tara.

Do understand what you were trying to say Tara, and in light of that am making a presumption he would have possibly been taking his wife to meet his family in Templemore. The reason I asked about name prefix and religion is that Patrick being R.C and Rachel not, I was wondering, if they settled in his home town or the wider County, might they have encountered a problem with baptisms of any children? I don't know how big/little Templemore is, number and denominations of churches etc., but I presume these establishments will hold the only records, ergo the key to my tracing any descendants.

Just read your latest posts Tara - yes  Rachel  is part of my family. Her father was John Pocock (an agricultural labourer) and mother Jane (nee Rolfe). Rachel was one of 5 children. They were part of the travelling community, and just like all the Patricks and Michaels I have encountered with the Cormacks/McCormacks, the Pococks seemed to like using the same family christian names, so you end up with about 6 Annes all born in the same area within a couple of years!

With Rachels' name being outside of their 'norm' I thought she might be one of the easier ones to follow.  How wrong could I be?

Is Slaters like a Kellys Directory?

thanks again

Mixed religion baptisms can be tricky to follow but if they had children they should show up on civil records but there aren't any good matches that I can see.

Yes, Slaters is a trade directory.

Nothing in Ireland that I can see for the Rachel / Harriett variants !

Patrick being too common a Christian name to even attempt a match.
