Bellamys - Sawtry marriage?
« on: Wednesday 01 July 15 10:46 BST (UK) »
Can anyone add any details for Samuel Bellamy who married Ann Spensor 1708 and his son, Thomas Bellamy who married Mary Abbott 1741?

Thank you.

The 1741 marriage was in Yaxley Hunts, and the earlier one was at Sawtry All Saints between Ann Spensor and Samuel Bellome of Glapthorne

Befordshire Boy,

Thank you for your infroamtion.

Wrt marriage in Sawtry, are we able to find out who their parents were? Presumably there's details of witnesses at the wedding?

Thank you,

Chris

It wasn't until 1754 that there were witnesses at marriages. Prior to that you're lucky to get anything more than the two names, so you've been lucky to get Samuel's parish of residence mentioned. I'm sure that if we found their baptisms we'd find their parents. Glapthorn's in Northants.
