john gallagher/fanney gallagher

in the 1901 irish census I have found a brother and sister john age 29 and fanney age 32 Gallagher. they were residing at Donegal-birdstown-drumhaggert and both stated they were born in Derry city. I would dearly love to find the father of both john and fanney. There is the possibility that his name be MAY BE JOHN ALSO. I have tried various searches but cant find a birth of a john and fanney Gallagher to the same parents in derry city around 1868/72. Perhaps some of my friends out there more skilled than I may give me a lead. many thanks to all.

They may have been born Derry BUT were their births registered in Donegal??

In the 1911 census John (now married) gives his birthplace as Londonderry-

Drumhaggart townland (which may not be where Fanny and/or John were born) is in Co. Donegal but also in Londonderry Poor Law Union/registration district. Elagh Beg isn't far away.

Unfortunately the names are too common in the area to pick out the correct births for John & Fanny without further clues.
