Bookbinder
« on: Sunday 05 July 15 09:24 BST (UK) »
The occupation of a few of the pearces in my family was stated as Bookbinders,  one particular eas James Pearce b 1808 Westminster ,  his son James John Pearce b1832 Gravesend, was also a Bookbinder.

Does anyone know anything about Bookbinding or where I could find information or any records?

Thx in advance

Sue

In the City of London, the Guild of Stationers (formed 1403) included bookbinders.

This has now evolved into The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.

Their own website has a page regarding History:

Also a link on that page to their archives! ;D
