Death Records
« on: Sunday 05 July 15 10:24 BST (UK) »
Hi. I have a sub Ancestry but it seems that death records ( Liverpool ) are only listed ? up to 2007 ?
My husband was looking for a friend of his. He found mention of him and his home address via website free electoral roll You have to buy credits to view information. This can be costly if you get wrong person. Are there any other places to view deaths after 2007 ? Local library.

https://www.gov.uk/research-family-history

Includes the information:

'Find index reference numbers in person
You can also search for index reference numbers for free at:
Library of Birmingham
Bridgend Reference and Information Library
City of Westminster Archives Centre
Manchester Central Library
Newcastle City Library
Plymouth Central Library
The British Library (you’ll need to register first)
These are the only complete copies of the full sets of index reference numbers. They’re on microfiche.'

Also;
'View index reference numbers locally
Some of the index reference numbers are available at local libraries, archives and other locations.'

You could try the website of the local newspaper to see if there was an announcement of the death there in the Notices section.

See Q1. What is a GRO index reference, and where can I find it?

Victoria

This is what FindmyPast have said, and I assume it will  apply to Ancestry and all other sites.
The General Register Office was part of the Office of National Statistics, but has recently become part of the Passport Office. Owing to the view that the Passport Office takes on this information, it has been decided that it should no longer be made public in such a manner. No further BMD indexes for any date after 2006 will be added to the website as a result of this.

Hi

The Liverpool Echo Family Notices may be of help

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/buy-sell-tell/family-notices/#/

There is also this database on Ancestry that has about half the deaths 2007 to 2013, it is not sourced from the GRO.
