hi im trying to find out my brother in law family tree and i am stuck at joseph wild born 1840  in briely hill . there is talk that maybe his father was nimrod wild although although there is a vast age difference between son and dad. much appreciated if you can help thanks kath

Do you have Josephs Marriage Cert?
It will have his Fathers name/occp.

If he married Julie BARKER then his Father is Nimrod according to his M/C.

Marriage;
23 July 1866, Edensor, Staffs
Joseph WILD age 22, Father NIMROD
Julia BARKER age 26, Father WILLIAM Barker

I see what you mean only Nimrod I can find was born c 1751 Hampshire.

If Joseph was born in 1840, who is he living with in 1841 and 1851 censuses?

If that is the correct age at marriage, he was born in about 1844.

Born about 1844 in 1871 census, but then showing as older in subsequent censuses?

Which Nimrod Wild are you trying to connect to?

On a private tree on Ancestry there is a claimed birth of about 1815 in Staffordshire.

Joseph Wild is something of a mystery in the family. Rumour had it about a name change somewhere along the line, and it happens to be with Joseph Wild, While or White. Prior to marrying Julia he appears to be married under the name of White to Elizabeth with baby William B. Julia Barker had a son John before marrying Joseph. We know about the generations afterwards. Probably going to remain a mystery I guess. Just seen the post about nimrod in 1815. That's great thanks.
