Looks like James' Mum died in Cardiff 1899

possible 1901 census for Dad, in Hartlepool Michael LALOR, age 52, Boilermaker, born Ireland. If that's right it would seem he remarried
Free BMD Marriages Q2 1900, Michael LAWLOR Hartlepool 10a 327, to Annie (though that 1901 census says Amy that may have been a mistrancription by the enumerator for Anny) Campbell

thank you , maybe he went to ireland visiting or scotland as that is where his wifes family were from
