Walsh Family Ballycotton
« on: Monday 06 July 15 00:02 BST (UK) »
Hi
Looking for any information on the following family from Ballycotton, Cork. James (b. 1824), Elizabeth (b. 1826), Margaret (b. 1828), Johanna (b. 1831), there was another sibling Mary (b. 1822) but I have the information I need on her, their parents were William Walsh and Mary Hyde (b. 1795 - d. 1865). Any info on them or their father William, and any other info on Mary Hyde (parents, birthplace etc) would be great. Thanks.

The Roman Catholic Church records are due to be released online from The National Library of Ireland on 8th July. Have you looked at www.nationalarchives.ie for Census, Tithe Applotment & Griffith Valuation records. Do you know the townland in Ballycotton where they lived?   :) In Tithe Applotment there are a few entries for William Walsh in the area of Ballycotton namely in Maytown in 1834. Nearby in Parish of Churchtown Townland of Kilderig there is an entry for a Johana Hyde . Both these areas are close to each other & not far from Ballycotton. In griffiths valuation the Parish for William Walsh is Ballintemple in 1853

Hi Keego,

All I have on the Walsh family are their dates of birth, I can't find any info on whether they married or not, but if I find anything I will let you know.  Do you have anymore info on Daniel?

Chris x
