« on: Monday 06 July 15 10:44 BST (UK) »
Hi can anyone tell me if PRISONER ,COURT and NEWSPAPER RECORDS for abt 1851 for TIPPERARY
available and how could I access them from Tasmania
My Great Grandmother MARY COUGHLAN served a 12 month prison sentence before she was tried 22 Oct 1851 on another charge and transported for 7 years at Cashel
I was hoping that I could find more information about Mary and her family
I have the Australian convict records
any assistance would be most appreciated

As far as I'm aware just the prison records are available which are more just a log book of whom was arrested, sometimes a description, what for, and how they were found, that kind of thing.

Sometimes there might be a next of kin, but as you can see in Mary's case there wasn't.

This might be moreso for Dublin Prison record books that I have seen, it may also depend on the time period.

Anyway, I know you are looking for her family in Tipperary but I'm afraid that the prison records won't help you there !
