This is a long shot, with not much info.so for that I apologise first.During WW2 my father was billeted in Astwood Bank. The couple he stayed with were a Mr. and Mrs.Smallwood.They were still alive in 1969. Any help finding their names or family would be great.Thankyou.

Another long shot.......a letter to a local newspaper?
My late father did that using details from a 60+ years old marriage certificate. There were still people who remembered the family and were in contact with them. So a long shot put my father back in touch with one of his cousins for the last few years of his life.

Good luck!

Have you got an approximate age for the couple - in their 20's or 60's during the War?

Is this a possible death?

Deaths June quarter  1973   Elizabeth Smallwood  born 4th March 1888     Bromsgrove 9d  40

Added:
Probably wrong person, as think this Elizabeth was living in Bromsgrove not Astwood.

Based on my memory of them in 1969,I would say they were late 70's to mid 80's.The reunion with my Dad was very touching and I would love to track down any relatives they may have in the area.Again,my info.is very scant, but fingers are crossed!Thankyou for help.

Would an Electoral Role Register exist for 1969 or a Housing List of home owners of some sort?

Yes, ER's exist, but you need to search in person by address, I think.

Email or phone nearest (to Astwood Bank) large library for advice.

If late 70's to mid-80's in 1969, then born 1883 to 1893, say.
