Thomas and Catherine's divorce was apparently very unpleasant. 
Court file viewing not permitted without valid reason.

Janette, apparently Abraham could be the father of 4 children additional to the family of 6 with Catherine.  It would be interesting to learn more of this rumour and/or fact. 
Re my earlier post about divorce, Archives New Zealand advise Court file would have to be acquired from Births Deaths and Marriages, however general public viewing is not permitted unless there is a valid reason.  The divorce was mentioned in a 1941 newspaper article as being "Undefended".
