..There is also a baptism for Evan Thomas son of David Thomas and Mary Jones/Evans of Trawsgoed in 1835...a witness to David and Mary's wedding in c1822 names a John Evans, poss brother to Mary or her father?...Mary being born c1790... both noted as being of Llanuwchllyn...
At about the same timeframe ie 1830's there seems to be at least 2 families living at what is called Trawsgoed, all related..Thomas Jones, d1820 Trawsgoed, whose daughter Catherin b1775 married Robert Roberts and dwelled at Trawsgoed in the census returns,(can't connect to this family).. and his brother Evan Jones d1832 Trawsgoed and wife Gwen ..

Are there any transcribed baptisms for Llanuchllyn from the original registers before they became illegible ??!!

Searching therefore to try and connect to the Trawsgoed family with the baptisms of David Thomas c1793 and Mary Jones/Evans c1790

Kind regards
Aled

There is a will of 1763 at NLW(below) for a John Thomas of Trawsgoed,Llanuwchllyn,in which his children are named as Mary,Thomas and Evan Jones. It doesn't make your connection but may prove to help.

Thanks Roger...I have studied what you have posted but unfortunately can't make a connection, and have emailed those who are researching for any info...without the baptisms for the years in questions very hard to make the connection...there is another family Griffiths/Jones also noted as being of Trawsgoed!! So for me, it is either David THOMAS 1793 or Mary Jones/Evans 1790 which are related to any of the three families known...
all the best and thank you

Not something I have done myself, but can you get a copy of the Bishops Transcripts from London Family History Centre(microfiche) or ask for somebody visiting NLW in Aberystwyth to have a look for same?No doubt patronymics will be a complicating factor.

Roger
