Hi Lady Hawk,  William was born in 1892/91 the witnesses were Doris's sister and not sure who the other was,  the second marriage was witnessed by Doris's Daughter(my Aunt) and her husband.  But there were obviously fibs told as some information on the second marriage were not right as she put herself as a spinster and Arthur is a Batchelor but both been married before so expected to see widow or divorced and we don't know what happened to William,  also dorises father is down as James Smith but he was James Wilding,  can only imagine James Smith was put so no questions asked.

Don't know if you have this or if its any help but, Doris Mabel Wilding was baptised 06/10/1899 at St Mary's East Ham, the daughter of James and Louisa Elizabeth Wilding, they were living at 22, Melbourne Road EHam and James was a foreman.

Have posted some time ago,

Looking for any information on William Smith,  he left the Marital Home in approx 1933 and supposedly never seen again.

We do not know where William was born the only information we have is he Married Doris Mabel Wilding in 1916 and was in the forces at that stage,  the address given was the same as Doris's family.

It shows his Dad as George Smith,  General Labourer on the Marriage Cert, dont know Georges wifes name.

We know he was living at 426/428 Lonsdale Avenue, East Ham,  when he left, His wife Doris re married in 1942 to Arthur Southgate.

It is like looking for a needle in a Haystack,  Alan Smith (my Hubby) has done his DNA on Ancestry and there are 2 close matches that are not responding,  whether they are getting the messages or not we dont know but they could hold some information.

Any help or information would be appreciated.

Sue and Alan Smith.

What avenues have you pursued so far?

Have you been through WW1 service records to look for a william smith who wed Doris Mabel?
(Is it still free access at the moment)?
