William Knight of Ashling
« on: Wednesday 08 July 15 20:05 BST (UK) »
Am searching for more information re William Knight.  On the 1851 census at Angmering is Wm Knight, 52 (c1797).  On the IGI there is such a baptism 3 Dec 1797 at Ashling, Funtington) son of William and Mary.  There is also a daughter Harriett bpt 19 Jun 1799 at same place, same parents.  I do not locate the family in Ashling after 1799.  Is it possible someone has the transcript for Ashling and can give me further details from these records. Specifically looking for burial(s) for Harriett Knight.    I don't have the parents marriage which could be circa 1798/9.

thank you so very much - Westhampnett is something to work on and looks very positive to me.  Is the Sussex Marriage Index online?

Your welcome gdc

The SMI is not online but the SMI CD can be purchased from the Sussex Family History Group.

If you  have loads of Sussex ancestors it maybe worth joining. It gives members online access to transcribed Baptisums & Burials.
If your lucky, some Baptisums give Dads occupation and where they live :)
