Evening.
If you can get access to a library that has A****** for free - many do - you will see there is a tree on there that indicates the family stayed in the North East until old age. However they do not show a census entry after 1901 which is interesting. I cannot say if the tree information is accurate as you would have to check it all out and the lack of the most recent released census would concern me for sure to make sure it's all the right people.

I have also searched ancestry trees and they do have deaths for matthew , hannah , and son james but no place of death,s and no backup and no one has them in 1911

Hi,
There's a death of a chap about the right age on FreeBMD

Deaths Mar 1953
MORRISON    Matthew    83    Durham N.E.    1a   543

Durham N.E. includes Heworth

Perhaps see if you can check some old electoral rolls to see who he was living with? If you live in the North-east try either Durham County record office or Tyne & Wear Archives.
