John Thomas Gibbs b1919
« on: Thursday 09 July 15 19:23 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace John Thomas Gibbs b 29 Sept 1919 Deptford Kent (now London). Father was John Richard Gibbs mother was Alice Maud Cole.
Disappeared as a young man - possibly moved to Scotland?
Can find birth but no marriage or death details.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to rootschat, Bengal 28.

Have you got the deaths of his parents and any wills etc?

Could he have fought in WW 2. He may have joined up during the war.

Good luck with the search.

Thank you both for responding.

I have been searching this family tree for several years - I use Ancestry and FreeReg -  I have his birth cert and the deaths of his parents, but neither left a will (no real assets). I have tried to trace a death for John Thomas Gibbs as a child and as an adult but cannot find anything. Likewise no luck with WW2 records.

I am stuck and not sure where to look next.

Hi.

Yes I saw that death but even if I order a cert and it is for a John Thomas Gibbs I have no way of knowing if it is the one I am looking for. Different area, and I know nothing about him.
I think my only hope is if someone identifies him from their own family tree.

Thanks for the idea though.

Thanks for this info Rosie.

I was hoping to find a WW2 record showing next of kin (parents), but no luck.
I just have to hope that someone tracing John Thomas Gibbs will get in touch.
