Procedures of courts 1920
« on: Saturday 11 July 15 11:12 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am having great difficulty trying to prove the existence of my grandfather as stated on my mother's b/c. However I was helped earlier by a member of this site who had found two articles in a Sheffield newspaper stating that my grandfather had been fined for not sending his child/children to school (1920). What I would like to know is - would he have had to appear in person to receive this judgement? Also I would like some advice on where I can look to perhaps find anything else regarding these judgements (online if possible)? Any help would be much appreciated.

He would have had to appear in person, as he would have a  summons to appear.

Thanks for that Stan. That is really something I needed to know. I'm very grateful.
