Davis family mystery Manningham/Bradford West Yorkshire
« on: Tuesday 14 July 15 10:42 BST (UK) »
wonder if you can help? My great grandmother's parents seem to have disappeared! There is a confusing family history story about them, no one knows what happened to the parents but when Sarah was young she was shipped off to Canada/America & then returned. I can't figure out why, it wasn't war time & she wasn't sent to family!
My great grandmother Sarah Davis born in Manningham 1892 (Married Sidney Butterfield)
Her parents were William Henry Davis born 1856 Ogbourne Wiltshire & Sarah Ann Culley born 1857 Alby Norfolk. They had 5 children Alice, Maude, Albert John, Beatrice & Sarah. I can trace all of the children except Alice . My aunt seems to think that Albert did not get sent abroad.
i can see  Sarah on the 1901 census living with her uncle Albert J Culley &  1911 living with her brother, Albert.
Can you help me find the parents death records & see what happened to Alice?
Thanks

I think Alice may have been Alice Mary Davis. There's a birth in Bradford in q/e Dec 1879 and a death in q/e September 1891, aged 11 (vol 9b, page 68).

So you have them all in 1891?
The reason I ask is because Davis is a very common name & you don't give any DOB's except Sarah who I can see in 1901 & 11 & I can see the family in 1881. I'm assuming Beatrice is the one born 1889 & Albert 1882.
